Application for Membership

We invite your program to become a participating member of Crime Stoppers International. Crime Stoppers International, Inc (CSI) was established to support a worldwide network of Crime Stopper programs. CSI provides a forum for leadership and training. CSI fosters cooperation and encourages information exchange between local Crime Stopper programs world wide.

CSI is funded by membership dues and donations.

CSI is successful because it is a confederation of local autonomous crime stoppers programs that believe in the basic principle that ordinary citizens must assist our local law enforcement agencies if we are to take back our city or county from the criminal element. Crime Stoppers International was formed because it was recognized that crime was not limited to the communities in the United States or Canada. That crime is a world problem. That Crime Stoppers provides a means for common ordinary citizens to make a difference in our war against crime. That local Crime Stoppers Programs, together under the banner of Crime Stoppers International, pooling their resources, can make a difference and help put criminals where they belong - behind bars.

The strength of this confederation of Crime Stoppers Programs (CSI) is its networking capabilities. Communication is the core of this network. The ability to communicate with Crime Stoppers programs worldwide is the number one goal of CSI. To accomplish this goal CSI has developed the following tools:

  • THE CALLER - The official publication of CSI is distributed to members.

  • Directory - A directory of Crime Stoppers programs is published each year.

  • Internet - CSI has several internet services to assist Crime Stoppers programs.

  • Email - Information exchange is being facilitated by CSI using email directly to programs. Posting of questions by members, allows interchange of ideas.

Like local Crime Stoppers Programs, Crime Stoppers International, Inc. is a volunteer based program. Besides providing a means by which local programs are able to network with other programs worldwide it's volunteers also provide Training Conferences and Membership Services - including assistance on forming programs, Scholastic Crime Stoppers, networking, and fund raising ideas. Assistance is provided to protect Crime Stoppers from legal challenges.

However, if we expect to truly make a difference in the "war against crime," it is imperative that Crime Stoppers Programs worldwide band together. CSI is the umbrella by which this may be accomplished.

We ask that you join CSI and return the attached Crime Stoppers Program application form. We look forward to working with your program in the future.
